Question Which Air Filter Upgrade to Purchase

I have an 07 FLHP Police Road King with a factory 103" and want to know opinions on air filters. Screamin Eagle, Hyper Charger, K&N..

I installed screamin eagle pipes and a thunder-max tuner.

I pretty sure I dont want a super sucker style. I dont just ride in dry weather. I sometimes get caught at work in the rain.

I like the looks of the hyper charger but dont know anything about it. Any info or comments would be greatly appreciated.

Check out www.dohertymachine.com

They have some very nice setups, a little pricey, but well worth it.

You don't need anything bigger than the SE rated CFM unless you are running a hot 117.

A second for the Doherty kit - superb workmanship is in a class by itself IMO. And it's MADE IN USA!!

Like others said, Doherty is a nice piece. But if not in the budget, get a S/E from HD and get the zippers filter upgrade...

I like the NHRS Hurricane back-plate with a K&N air filter because I gained
10-12 horsepower along with Khrome Werks 3" hp slip on mufflers and the SERF on a '07 1200 Sportster

I have been told that a hypercharger makes a whistleing noise when at highway speeds.I went with the arlen ness big sucker, you can use the factory ac cover with it.

it's like the tv show on the speed channel, two guys garage at the end of the show when they drive either a ferrari, z06 vette, or some sort of exotic high performance car and they say do a need this car? no. do i want this car? yes it would look good in my garage.
so ask yourself, do i need the doherty power pac? no. do i want the doherty power pac? i say yes, if it's within the budget. it is twice the cost as the other's, but you do get what you pay for in this instance.

Went with Sreamin Eagle

Thanks for the responses.

I went with the Screamin Eagle stage 1 kit. It was a a very simple install and allowed me to keep my stock cover. So far so good.

Thanks again for the help,

Gozzie

What is the Zipper's filter upgrade? Is it just a reusable K&N element to take the place of the paper one?

About 5/8" thicker.
But when you really start pulling on the carb/throttle body, then you can run past it pretty darn quick, as we have witnessed power losses on even strong 95" with that element.
They still offer an EVO, 8" round unit the does not hold much power back. But the best out there, are the Dorherty, or the Bob Wood 325 cfm units.
This is info we have found on out Dynojet.
