New Build Ride Report
Semi dry and low 50's yesterday, good chance to get the bike out for some real seat time. Had about 50 miles on her over the past couple of weeks in some very ugly weather but at least I got the rings seated. So yesterday, I changed the oil and headed out. I live iin a rural area of curvy, hilly county two lanes, really 90% of my riding is on these kind of roads.
Left the house, hit the edge of town(two blocks) and rolled on, nice smooth power and very quick to get through any gear. I literally found myself at about 90mph so quick my mind was boggled, so effortless and smooth, I was not getting on it and stayed in the low 4k's for the most part, never really whacked the throttle hard. The weather was holding so I kept cruising my regular roads, the ones I have ridden 100's of times that I know very well. First thing I noticed is that there are LOT MORE spots where I am gonna be able to run it up past 100 before running out of road. My 01 had a pretty stout motor but this thing is just wicked quick, it spins up so quick it is scarrey. There are a few places where I could get the old bike up to 100 before I had to shut it down, when the 08 was stock, no matter what, some of those spots were just way to short to get there and I could only manage low 90's. Well, with the new build, I could blip it up to 100 in dozens of new places and mind you this is not pushing it hard, just gentle roll ons and keeping the r's in the 4's. This thing is so fun! Got another 100 miles on it yesterday and I have a grin on my face that will last til the next little weather break.
I am only running a break in map now but bike runs great. Bike goes to Latus/Stegman tomorrow for Their new motor SERT tune on Tuesday. I couldn't be happier with the results so far.
As for the build, the tw6 is a little loud, gonna check the pushrods in the am before it goes for tune. I suspect that one (front exhaust)is rubbing since they are SE adjustables. Will probably replace them with some good solid ones if that's the case but not right away. Anyhow, if all seems fine, I'll just live with the noise, not gonna chase it that's for sure, already done that with my old bike. The trans gear change, combined with the build is an amazing combination, I am really happy with the transmission now, I found the top two gears pretty much useless when it was stock, at least for the type of riding I do. I would reccomend the trans pully swap to anyone even with a stock motor it will definately help make the ratios more real world user friendly.
Be interesting to see what the numbers are once it's tuned although, not really important to me since I know how fast and quick this baby is, that's what's important to me.
This girl is FUN to ride and did I say it's FUN!!! I am HAPPY!

ADLERX---Congrats on getting it back together. Sounds like it;s a ripper. Scott at Hillside and I had discussed your build the other day---he told me that he suspected you were going to be very pleased once you got some seat time. Let us kknow when the dyno numbers come in.
Ps....i liked the other avatar.....

About the dyno #'s. The way everyone rips all the dyno sheets posted, even not knowing what they are gonna be, I'm already hesitant to post em. I know that Latus does there's in STD and in 5th gear which with the 6 speed and my lowered gear ratio is exactly the correct gear BTW. I'll probably just post a link to the sheet on Latus' site, I don't really want to get into any debates, i have been through that before here.
Like I said, regardless of any numbers, I've had a fast bagger before and this one flat out performs and it's not even tuned yet!
UH OH, it's 50 and drying out outside, better get out for a ride!
See YA!
Which av ABY? If it's the one with the ass, I was requested to remove it

Sounds like fun and Latus will get it better. Who cares about the numbers theres are close, they have a 250I and the latest software now. I am not sure if they use SAE or STD and what gear these days. Bottom line is it runs well and will run better I am sure. Would be curious to see what a cold compression test yields.

Latus uses 5th gear STD on the 6 speed HD stuff. Everyone uses 5th on the 6 speeds. No big deal on STD...just subtract 4% and you will be close to SAE.
Mike can also print you a SAE run with a click of his mouse.
Please post your results.

New build
Adlerx, congrats on a great build and it would be of interest to see where the build started prior to tune to after tuning was completed (not sure what Latus provides). Enjoy the ride and I'm sure you're making many envious (me for sure) by actually riding you're new build.

Doing it once was big money. Doing it twice really sucked, but had no choice. She'll get fired off the nearest cliff before she gets a 3rd one!

Well, she's in the hands of Mike Stegman now. Dropped her off today to be tuned tomorrow. Got to ride this am, nice! she's still a little noisey up top but after a chat with Bob Wood this evening, Gave me some good ideas, pretty sure I can get it quieted down when she comes home wed or thur. I'll keep you posted...

If you don't mind, what did Bob suggest? I have the same cam and battled the noise until I gave up.
