to polish or not to polish/to powdercoat or not to pc
yep...me again...not trying to be a pain, just trying to gather a plan.im thinking of powdercoating my eng case, tranny case, heads and cylinders,i was told once the cases could be knocked out of true if the temp is too high,i called sumax and they said the cases would be fine since the temp is around 400 degrees and they've been on the forefront of powdercoating,i was also thinking maybe i should polish all the cases, heads and cyl....was told it looks great(gotta do a lot of cleaning)but the major factor is the heat it creates, and im thinking of doing this with R&R heads and axtell cyl.everyones opinion is welcomed, especially those who wrench bikes.....do i sound confused???? thats because i am.!! LOL...thanks everybody!!

Hey Ced, I will let you know. I got a set of jugs and heads that i sent to Scott at Hillside yeasterday. They are getting powdercoat and diamond show cut. They will be fine and you dont have to worry about them. 2 years ago, i did a custom dyna build with powdercoated engine/trans/ everything else. Bikes had about 15k on it with all the work done and zero troubles.
Here is a link with a teaser pic of what i am doing...

Now that's just down right mean! Posting pictures of those polished R&R heads. How am I ever suppose to live live with my plain ol' R&R cast heads?
Bike looks gorgeous!!!

Polished
Here are a couple of examples of the polished look. Randy at King of Cubes cnc radius cut the Axtell jugs and had them polished to match the R&R heads.

Yes TP rocker boxes. They really cut down the valve train noise and oil misting.
