Mike is probably one of the best porters in the world.....he does high end racing. He did my heads on a 116.5'' sporty ProMod that put out 182hp, the port job cost $6000.00. Now I don't know if he does street porting or not but if he does it will be top shelf work.

Thanks, ya an indy I was talking with for a street build said he used them for head work. I saw that he does/use to race and will see if he does street porting. I assume he does cuz he (Indy) did give me a price. The price was as all whom post here for street work, no more. Again thanks.

I don't care how good he is.
I would not have paid $6000.00 if GOD himself came down and layed his hands on it.

This is what you do when your racing....people spend better than $10,000.00
for a few tenths of a second gain....$6000.00 for good heads is a drop in the bucket.

The amount of money that is nedded to put a 8 second V-Twin bike up on the track and campaign it, is a money and time cost that I will probably never do again in my life. It is a never ending fever to go faster at almost all costs. Everything be damned. Family, sleep, money, etc. Crazy.
Been there. Our bike still sits in the showroom. But, I still know the feeling when you win, with a machine that you built almost everything on it. Double edged sword. Couldn't win enough races in ones lifetime to break even on the parts. 8.88/ 148.85 mph/ 108 CI/ 167 hp/142 ft/lbs. 582 lbs w/rider.

where is this guy located?
and does he have a web link?
Just curious about it since he is in my neck of the woods. I saw that Alamo City was a sponsor of his.
I think that if I were to do it (build engine) I would use one of the porters on our website I have talked to two of them and they seem to know what they are talking about and have had great reviews for countless people here.

Living it right now. Last weekend our 113" PM went 8.73 @ 148 (#1 Qualifier) and we can see in the datalog there is still more in it. I think on a perfect pass, it will go another tenth quicker. This year we are doing 6 national pts events, I pay for the travel gas and race gas, that alone is in excess of $2500. The bike owner pays for parts that we break. Otto provides the RV and the race trailer and countless hours of rebuilding and repairing. I'm going out to the shop this morning to see how bad we hurt it and get it ready for the Final event of the year in 4 weeks.
And the other good news is........ we didn't have to spend $6k on porting. The raw castings were $1500 and Otto just went to town on'em.

Ours were STD castings that we did.
Built the trees, fork brace, brake hangers, dual carb intake system, entire engine, transmission(all the time), axles, handlebar mounts, oil bag, fuel tank, trans/engine plates, modified the hell out of a PCW chassis,( that was supposed to hold that power?!?), custom stepped pipe(s) starter cart, etc, etc, etc, etc,.................................
That bike had an 8.60 on paper in it. Never saw it, but after we stopped running it, we ended up taking 9 lbs. out of the clutck pack!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ( old Phase III stuff we had here, and we did dyno it and it showed quicker)
Just sits now.
