Under warranty

Or not?

Then there is the "Dealer warranty" like my dealer who will warranty SE cams, pistons, etc for one year parts and labor as long as he installs it. He does mention that you may have warranty issues with other dealers while traveling. However how would another dealer know you have a 203/204/251 cam in there other than opening up things?

I think the dealer warranty may actually be better than the factory warranty that I hear you have to fight to get covered on most things.

I just did a 103 on my 07 FLHX , and the dealer would warranty the 255 and that was about it. THe cam is better than stock , pulls very linear and nice about 3000, but when the warranty runs out , I'll be looking at at least a 251 or the Redshift .575 or T-man .590 with heads.

Redplex you might want to consider head work an the bigger bore before a cam is selected. If you just want a cam for now and no head work then a Andrews 26 in your motor will deliver 80 hp and 90 tq. If you go with a a partial port, big bore (103'') and like a TW6 .510 lift or Andrews 37 .510, or Red Shift .510 you will be well over 105/110. If you go bigger cams (.550 and above) roller rockers will be required.

Good luck

I will add to the above by stating that the Bob Wood TW-6-6, will hit on the very bottom, and continue out, where as the 37 will nose over .

R&R has a new cam for little or no head work called the RR525 cam that will turn it into into a torque bike. It is designed to be used with chain or gear but you will have to use either their cam plate or cam plate/ cam cover.
