That a fact? Mine is great and I know several other folks who are happy with their '07s. I had a problem with a Lexus once and I've had two problems with my Acura. Guess they're all junk.

your missing the point the crank run out issue wiped out my buddys bike ..all hd is going to do is replace the cam plate and oil pump and leave the junk ass crank in there so 4500 miles later it;ll happen again .. ya sure there gonna fix the syptom but there ignoreing the problem ... there press fit cranks are junk and they wont address it ...once the warrenty run out ther in the clear ... i didnt believe it either till it happened to a biker that i know and a life long freind and hd just pissed allover both off them

You are right. The MoCo is pissing all over them. It is a shame they won't stand behind their product.
But, most of us here know what we are buying when we buy into HD. We know their product isn't perfect by any stretch of the imagination, yet we buy it anyways. So, you either have to accept the shortfalls or like you are doing, buy another bike!
But, don't come in here screaming "Harley Sucks!! Harley Sucks!!" You won't get much sympathy.
If you like your bike, let HD fix it under warranty, then bring the bike to a reputable independent engine builder for upgrades. He will build you a rock solid engine similar to what you would expect from the MoCo in the first place.

Buh bye...............
Since it is such a piece of crap I will give you $1,000.00 right now for it, any more and you would be screwing someone else. So where should I go to pick it up?

with out trying to sound like an ass , how many of you guys actually own 07's that the cranks have failed ..again it im not trying to step on toes but ....they raised the runout spec because the crank is now measured in the case not on a trueing stand ... this new spec also takes into acount the slop if you will in the roller bearings...the crank used to be measured on a stand at the bearing surface now its measured on the end of the pinion shaft in the cases so .003 or less is not impossible but unlikely ... now that being said if the crank shaft has scissored thats a whole diff. issue . i have spoken to 2 different engine builders and was told by them that the bikes that are haveing the issues have them pretty much from the start and as long as the bike is used as it was intened that there should'nt be a problem i own a 07 rkc and im just as concerned as you all lets try to find some hard facts and not internet hipe and speculation keith

Blues, you seem to have had a change of heart since 2 days ago.
Does anyone know if Harley actually increased the RUNOUT spec for 2009? The technical document I saw said they increased the ENDPLAY spec from .003 to .013.

hey guys
i gotta apoligize ,i was way outta line lastnight .. i was kinda drunk and stressed out about my moms cancer treatment and yea i kinda pissed at hd for not stepping up , but i'm not gettin rid of my bike ,i love the damn thing ,fact is ill be doin the run-out ck this fall so hopefully mine will be o.k. ,but long story short i am sorry ...i just think hd outta do more than raise spec's to cover there ass they need to make this crank issue right with people that have failures ..this is my first hd ,which i waited yr's to get and i guess i just want it to be right . i know everything has problems but building motors with sub standard cranks then raiseing the spec to cover your poor quality control is not good ..but again i do apoligize for my post lastnight ,i like my bike and this forum

Glad to see you came to your senses. This, and other, HD forums provide a lot of great information.... but.... they are also a place for people to vent. If you believe everything you read in the HD forums you will be sitting in a dark corner mumbling and playing with yourself. Moral: Ride More; Read Less.
