you are right, my old spine couldnt handle a rigid for any distance.
why dont i test it myself? thats the point---just another $100 wasted. plenty of people i trust told me about the resistors quite awhile ago. then i see the results on this thread, looks like tests were done and results are in.
i am sure if you dig around, you will find several threads that i stopped responding to. some because it became obvious it was going nowhere some i just lost track of, or some where i received a warning from a mod to leave it alone. this is the internet where everyone gets to play.
as far as always changing subject, no, i offered examples to answer a previous question, i believe the question was on subject as well as my answers.
put up or shut up? okay.
you spent your $100. so lets say we took identical bikes. you bought pipes, and ied, A/C and ied, pipes, A/C, and ied--whatever combination. next talley what you spent, example=pipes,$600 IED, $100
you have $700 invested in performance options and corrective measures. close??
okay, i take same $700 and buy slip ons, A/C, and power commander. load a base map (because i was smart enough to look at which components power commander offered maps for before i wasted money) and go. nope, i wont cheat with a real dyno tune.
we both spent same $$$$$$
wanna race?
wanna compare temps?
wanna compare fuel economy?
how bout it? or maybe you would like for me to

You made a dead stop on another thread as soon as someone said put up or shut up

I must have struck a nerve.
I'll put my bike on a dyno no problem.
As I asked before anyone in the Pa, Warminster area who wants to see what Xieds do. We can even plug in the fuel pak I have and see the diff.
I have raced my friend same year bikes and they have the cobra system installed and it was even steven every time. The only diff. was when we stopped at the pump (all 50/60 mph riding no stops) and they saw 36/38 mpg & I was seeing 48/50. We road all the same roads and my temps were 15/20 deg. cooler. I also had 100 more pounds diff. because of my wife on the back.
I just wanted a plug in system nothing more. The Xied's have done what I have wanted, good gas mileage, a little cooler temps. If I was putting in a cam I would go to zippers thundermax and get the full potential out of the engine (which it should already have), but untill I see my warranty expire the Xied's will be fine. A simple unplug and no one knows I had them on. Just like the fuel pak.
I had the v&h fuel pak and it was just to much crap under the seat. I noticed no difference between the fuel pak or the Xieds. as far as performance. I did notice the temps were down 20/30 deg with the Xied's.
When ever someone is ready I'll be there.

Hozheads:
I am VERY curious as to what the XiED's can do. I live literally around the corner from you. Please send me a PM so we can arrange a time and place. I have no doubt that the fuel system that claydbal is supporting is a more complete fix to the heat, (and other), issues, but I am looking just for something like what the XiED's promise on a much more limited budget than a full SERT package. I really don't want to get into altering my stock exhaust or anything else for that matter, so I am thinking of going the XiED route myself. A Stage 1 or other complete package may be in the works down the road, but for now, I'd be happy just to take the heat off idling around all the damn stop lights we have in our area. Does Street Road at rush hour ring a bell?? ARRRGGGHHHHHHHH!

hozehead, its easy to strike a nerve with me, broke neck and back injjuryies. LOL
i didnt say dyno, i said race. i didnt say fool pak of dfo, cobra or any other junk that does basically what your resistors do, i said power commander.
you buddys were runnin at 13.2 (or abouts) and you were at 14.2 (or abouts) explaining the better economy, and staying at 55-60 steady throttle kept you in closed loop most of the time. come on, lets ride!
your concern is unwarranted. Magnussen-Moss waranty act is federal law the dealer will violate if the try and deny your oem waranty. the thundermax has worked well for me and my customers. it is also installed on the AMRA record breaking dresser!! i have been testing t-max since beta and only fault i have ever found is the same fault as any other tuning device--------shitty pipes create headaches. you will be surprised once installed , and you can even tweak cruise to 14.2 LOL.

All I have ever stated is that the Xied's work very well for me and what I need from my bike at this point and time. I do believe that the thundermax is the best product on the market for people who want the max from their engine. But, you must face the facts. 80% of Harley owners don't want a race bike, pipes are all we need.
I have two bikes, my 07 nightrain and my 83 fxr shovelhead. ( 83 is bored 40 over, b-grind cam, ported & polished heads, pro-clutch, and s&s carb.) I have the fun bike, the fxr runs very well in the turns and pulls the front end up in 2nd gear, thats enough for me.
If I wanted to go 0/100 in 5 seconds it won't be on a Harley with $12,000 dollars into the engine alone, it would be $12,000 into a new hayabusa with NO engine work.

Avg 3.5-5 sec 0-100
Avg 10 sec 0-150
..and if it makes any difference after that, 0-180 around 18 seconds
... under $10k for a leftover...

HH, I run XIED's also and love them. You just have to accept that some people just aren't going to see life the same way you do. Last time I spoke to Steve at Nightriders he said his customer satisfaction ratio was about 98%. That's pretty good. I don't think I have seen any fuel mngt system up here that has 100% owner satisfaction. I tried the PCIII and ended up with one of the defective ones that were taken back because at the time they didn't know how to fix it. Yet others are very happy with them. I don't doubt them.
The average profile of an owner who loves the XIED's is probably someone who just wants to keep his Bike simple. He may want slip ons for some sound and maybe a different air kit, but he's not looking for ultimate power. Just a good running Bike that gets decent fuel mileage and his engine runs a little cooler.
At least that's why I like mine. I don't have to change maps, or fool around with a laptop. It can be installed in 10 minutes, or removed just as easily. It's simple, and it works great for me.
Just a Happy Customer...

If your bike runs too lean, these will help, but the sensors are probabley making it even leaner do to calibration shift. If the sinsors do not run true, the whole map is lean, not just the closed loop. This will help, but a dyno is the only way to get it right(within legal bounds). Another cam will help immensley

No one person is saying that your wrong. Only that we don't think its necessary to go through that because if you check your plugs and exhaust tips, and you have good color and YOUR happy with the performance isn't that all you need.

to jump back in here...I did get the stage one... I rode to the dealer which was 45 miles away( they had the best price for the down load), removed the xieds.. they did the stage one down load and i rode it home that way .. The bike ran fine except that it felt like I was pulling a trailer...when I got home I reinstalled the xieds and just like before I got that snap back, bike ran just like it did before the download...But.. the ping was gone in the open loop pulling them hills on a hot day.....Im a happy camper..My final combo is...
SE air/Stage 1 download/ free flow muffs/xieds..07 road king

Personally I don't see enough of a benefit to spend $150 for the download plus they charge one hour of labor now to the tune of Eighty some odd dollars. So its going to cost you over $230 to have your rev's raised.
Save your money and buy an IED or XIED from Nightriders. They will definitely lower your AFR, something that the stage one download cannot do because of EPA restrictions. As far as open loop goes your stock map is set up to run at 12.5 WOT. Which is plenty rich for most of us.
I run the XIED's and for me it was the best money I have ever spent. The Bike runs better than it ever has. The engine stays cooler, and my fuel mileage even went up to last tank was 46.6. All this for around $100.

I have, from pretty reputable people at the dealership, heard that the Stage 1 download does 2 things. It raises your rev limiter, and it slightly changes your timing. No change to the fuel map at all. It was recommended to me that I would be best off getting a Stage 2 download which does the above AND changes the open loop map to a richer mix. That, along with the XIED"s for closed loop, is where I'm headed.
