As you are now not compliant with the warranty requirements are you betting (== hoping) that you'll have no "oil related" warranty issues (cam bearings/followers), etc?

muleskinner my understanding is the auto oil 15-50 has more moly in it that is why they dont normally put it in the primmary.
might be ok in engine but I would stick with V-20-50w

correct on the moly, but it's still pretty low; I'm not losing any sleep over it.
This is discussed in Mobil 1 V Twin (odd simularity in string titles, eh?). Per a post from Electraglidin':
Code:
__M1_ _VTwin_
Silicon: 9 10
Boron: 228 188
Sodium: 13 3
Magnesium: 43 538
Calcium: 2464 1899
Phosphorus: 1193 1142
Zinc: 1315 1352
Molybdenum: 90 0
- units in ppm

Have also been using Mobil1 V-Twin in the engine, Spectro in the trans, and Formula+ in the primary. All 3 area Wal-Marts recently quit stocking the Mobil1; and the only indy stocking it want's $12.00 a qt.
Being very serious about the lubricants for my Ultra, I decided to try the Red Line Oil PowerPack Kit from:
www.racerpartswholesale.com
Includes their 20W50 motor oil, the Heavy ShockProof for tranny, and the MTL for primary. They're also throwing in a promotional hat, funnel, and bottle of Fuel Injection Cleaner.
After a few hundred miles, I'm well satisfied with the products. Many riders have suggested the ShockProof Heavy for these cruise-drive 6-speeds, and I have to say it's doing an excellent job; maybe a tad quieter than the Spectro.

I run it in the engine of my '07, and it lowered my engine temps quite a bit. I used to run it in all 3 holes, but I decided it would be better to use products specifically designed for the primary, transmission, and the engine and not try to use a one size fits all approach. When you think about it, a primary is quite different from an engine. So, I'm still running Mobil 1 in the engine, but I use Royal Purple trans in the transmission, and Royal Purple primary in the primary.
It seems to shift a little more quietly now.

I see two Mobil 1 15w50s on the shelf now. One is the original label and the other is the Extended Performance version. Are these 15w50s interchangable ?
Thanks >>>> Inthered

I used Mobil 1 20/50 for about the first 40,000 on this bike. I tore it down at 32,000 and it was like new inside. No scuffs on the cylinders and everything looked like it had a few hundred miles not 32,000. I was impressed and I have torn down a few motors over the years. None of which looked this good. Am now at 68,000 and plan on many more miles. I do run Redline 20/60 during the summer months now.

Why? does the extra '10' make a difference?

I use syn in the wife's bike and it works fine...my bike has an aggressive cam and makes some noise...it also runs hotter...I live in the deep south, low elevation, high humidity, and very hot 5 months out of the year...have better results temp and noise wise with straight 50 conventional oil...just have to keep it below 230* F and change every 2500 miles...imo syn aerates bad and is too thin at operating temp...fine for mild builds but I like straight conventional oil for a hot-rod...will be getting an oil cooler next spring

I run 15-50 in the engine as well
Type F ATF in primary
Mobile 1 75-90 in the tranny

I thought no car oil could have moly in it anymore due to screwing up the cat coverters..
