I was wondering the same.....
I even contacted the folks at Nightrider. If it fits an '08 FLHX I'll be ordering a set and posting my findings after the first hot spell (stuck in traffic).

This is a schude voltage o2 to fool the ECM to run richer.
Wile it will run it richer, how much richer, and will it be too rich or not rich enough too run the bike right.
It might be ok on a stock bike, but it will not work to fix the program to correct for a stage one.
Any way you look at it, it's only a band-aid fix at best.

I plan on keeping my '08 as stock as possible.
I'm thinking Nightrider's WB o2 sensors will address some of the lean fuel conditions. I believe the AFR drops from 14:7 to 14:1 with the stock Narrow Band O2's.
(Not a lot but maybe just enough to make the engine run happier)
Also, a set of Fulsac's dual conversion kit may take away some of the heat off the right leg. Minor stuff, little $$, and still keeping it fairly stock.

I agree just faking the Delfi Efi system out ,But so does the power commander ,dont get me wrong here the PC seems to work well for a lot of people, but PC is fooling the Delfi system just doing a hell of a lot more fooling , But for under a $100 bucks not bad and maybe if you do a supertrap tunable disc exhaust with this basic o2 change that gets you running a little richer it might be possible to add that high flow air filter by adding or subtracting the rite amount of discs and get a decent tune with a little bump in HP and a cooler running 96''.

Put 2 of these IED on my WG. With a HD download, Just as Knightrider stated dropped EXH temp 35-40 degrees.
Worked GOOD for me.

I just ordered two sets.
One's going on my '08 FLHX, the other's for my buddy's.
They're on sale at Nightrider's (for now).

I've been watching for feedback on these things for a while now . The majority of what I've read from users is positive . I'm running V@H Oval slip ons only with my 08 FLHX and will be trying the wires soon . Lets keep the thoughts coming on these since it might be just the little safety margin we need for slight mods . Thanks

Definitely worth the money and then some. My Bike was running 350 degrees on the rear cylinder with a TVII, K&N, and Rush (2 inch) mufflers. I removed the TVII and installed nightriders two wires. Took the same ride and measured temps again. The rear cylinder now was 250 degrees. This was on a 60 degree day.

I have a set on my 08 Roadglide and I am very happy. Motor is much smoother at cruising speeds, especially in the 2500 to 3000 rpm range. Pulls six gear on the freeway with ease also. Installation is about 15 minute job.

I received my IED's and looking forward to installing them soon. Fast delivery (1 week) and great customer service from Stephen @ Nightrider!
I'm hoping the install will address the lean AFR condition during closed loop operation and when the bike goes into "parade mode"(stuck in traffic). I'm not planning any exhaust/FI modes so the IED's may do the trick in lowering the operating temps at idle. If they add value during other rpm ranges that would be a welcomed bonus!
....now if only spring would hurry up and arrive!

I'm no expert and I admit I know very little about fuel management systems but my understanding is the IED's will help change the AFR during closed loop operation (only), thus lowering the engine temperature. Closed loop occurs during idle and "parade" mode (slow moving, stuck in traffic).
When the bike's rpms are above idle it goes into Open loop therefore the benefits of the IED's are not utilized. I think Stage 1 downloads and aftermarket fuel mgmt systems work during Open loop conditions, only. Therefore, Stage 1 downloads, etc., have no affect during Closed loop and will not address the AFR (lean fuel/heat condition).
Man my brain hurts...and I might be more confused than ever?!! Someone please correct me if I'm lost.

Take a look at this thread to answer your exact question:
http://www.v-twinforum.com/forums/v-...loop-mode.html
Judging by the answers, it looks like it stays in closed loop till after 50% throttle or more.
This means the nightrider wires would work a lot more often than not. They should bump hp up a bit being that they richen it up slightly...

Yes, the closed loop operation represents a pretty wide purpose of the ecm map: throttle positions from 0 to 40 and rpms from 0 to 4500.
