If you added freer flowing pipes and an air cleaner the combo will lean out your already lean running bike. The HD flash/download only brings the bike's AFR back to 14.7:1 in closed loop (which meets the EPA regs) and is still too lean. Any richer and the dealer will be breaking the law.
He shouldn't be surprised that an aftermarket product will produce a richer AFR. The dealers don't need to know you've installed the iED's/XiED's, especially if you're going in for warranty work.

Same on the Fat Boy! I just reached under the oil tank blindly, one finger nail to lift the lock on the connector and two fingers to push it a part.

Only 200 miles on my 08 SG when I put them on, and definitely noticed a deeper exhaust note, and less heat at the stop lights for the same outside air temps.

Best $100 I've ever spent on a bike. Thanks Steve!

Has anybody build the IED's from Steve's diagram? I have all the parts EXCEPT the male pins for the sensor connector. HD does not have part number for the male pins. Looks like they figure you are replacing the connector or the sensor. I got everything made up, just need those damn male pins!!! any clues on where I might find them??

Any big electronics distributor should have them, probably made by Bosch or Delphi (but don't quote me on that). www.newark.com or maybe www.digikey.com or www.mouser.com

I'm a happy customer. It's nice to find a product that works well at a reasonable price. Steve (at Nightrider) is also great to deal with.
I have an 07 ultra with SE slip ons and installed the xied a couple days ago... Superfast 2 days shipping from Steve, then 5 min install to a much better running engine. Engines cooler, more throttle response, and doesnt feel like its lugging when at lower RPMS.

Just got 43.6 mpg on first tank with the XIED (previous best was 42 without, so I it looks liked they helped my mileage as well.

+1 on a nice product at reasonable price

I had good results on my 07 FXD and my Wifes 07 FXSTC, better running, no decel popping, runs about 45 degrees cooler per my thermometer, even the MPG went up a little, I'm getting 46 MPG now.
I expected mileage to drop.
XiED's, Big Radius and Big Sucker is a good combo on both these machines.

Well, I've put some miles on my bike since I installed the xIED's.
And I have to echo what everyone else is saying, it's the best $70 I've spent on my bike.
It doesn't "lug" as much, and when you roll on the throttle, it PULLS! Runs cooler, with a deeper exhaust sound.
Amazing what a couple "wires" can do.

After reading all these positive comments and talking with a Bud (who is a tech at the local HD store) I just bought a set of the XiED's for my 07' Big radius 2 into 1 equipped soft tail.

I'll post again once I install them and ride! Install looks really easy on this FXSTC!

Just got my XiED's and installed them (took about 2:00 minutes!) and I bought these just by reading all 46+ pages elsewhere and all here. All I can say is ....

WOW

You all were right. As soon as I fired up my bike, I noticed the lowered tone of my pipes. Not mind blowing low, but noticeable. Throttle is snappy as all get out
Good goobly goo I'm one happy rider here Best $100 I've spent on my bike since my lowering kit!

Anal_Glacoma, do you have any other fuel system(like fuel pak, cobra, or commander)also on the bike now with the xied's? . If not, is there any popping out the exhaust? I also have a softail w/big radius exhaust and air cleaner kit. Ive been tossing around getting rid of the fuel pak and buying the xied. Did you ride the bike? Thanks

Hi, I had HD install the Vance and Hines. And they put a DFO/TFI unit on the bike with A/C.
Yes, I rode the bike yesterday after work. Rides smooth, temp did not go down. But throttle response is great and yes... the popping is gone. I've got 5 quarts of Synthetic and I'm thinking of switching to it to see if it'll help my temps will go down. My bike really pulls now and exhaust note is just enough deeper to notice. NOT ALOT DEEPER, but enough to know somethings going on!

Yes. It was decel popping with just the TFI, now that is gone.
