it depends how long the hose from the pump. the lines come from the tank to the pump seperately. maybe 20 oz of the other grade fuel in the hose. when weights and measures comes by, the gallon that they pump better check out to the listed octane, or someone gets a big fine.

Berserker, first word of advice is to post as much info as possible, then give it a break. You do not need to ramble in circles and repost info a bit at a time.It gets confusing as all hell.
Now as far as the map,I do honestly fail to see why you would need a new map with just an air cleaner.Even after buying a SERT I was told by Moroney's HD that most LIKELY I wouldnt need to reload a different map untill I did both the pipes and Air cleaner. When I did do both the AC and pipes I did load a stock map from the SERT software.
The reasoning behind this is that an engine is basically an air pump. The capacity of which is controlled by the intake volume AND the exhaust volume. You cant put more air in an engine than can be exhausted, hence the need to change both pipes and air cleaner to see any real diference.

Now Im thinking that when you replaced the air cleaner, you installed the wrong bolts in the head ports.Id make sure that the bolts you used were drilled to allow the breather to work.If you did install the undrilled bolts into the heads, the backpressure caused by the downstroke of the pistons would cause overheating and knocking if not blowing the engine. You also mentioned in a prior post that the plug behing the aior cleaner was hanging loose. If you changed the ac and didnt tie that loose plug,it may have got against a hot part and damaged the wireing.
In any case, good luck to you bro.

Berserker... Any new info on this saga? I'm about to attempt the same thing as you and it sounds like something that would normally happen to me. I really want to hear how you made out and what the resolution was. Well I'm off to the garage with SERT, laptop, SE AIR, and Hooker Tuned Flow slip ons in hand...

.

The reason I loaded a map in, was to make suire I could figure ut the SERT befre I putting new exhaust on. Also though it might run better.

The new air cleaner reuses the existing hea bolts, that the hoses fit onto. All your really addign is differant back plate and filter, pus differant hoses.

As for the wire I tyrapped, it is not used, its for international models. Maybe rubbed or hit something. But I think it was tywrapped up good.

I road for 200 miles after installing map.

Just got back from Sturgis will call dealer.

Been following your posts and am assuming you took it back to Suburban. I think there customer service after the sale is crap, along with the service department. I would recommend West Bend or Hartford dealers, same owner for both. I have heard plenty of stories same as yours about suburban.

Yep Suburban. Salesman never called back. I just left a message bithing. I was going to buy from Westbend, I live in Saukville. Salesman fed me BS, about financing. Said I couldn't get the HD financing, with 0%. Wanted 7%, then 6%. Got for 5% at Suburban.

But this really pisses me off. They keep accusing me of screwing something up. In the message I told him, I got 20k, on the engine I rebuilt, I think I can install an air filter.

I hope I don't look ignorant, but I am going to push this. I have had it a month. Was not there for my vacation.

If it was me I would go get the bike and take it to West Bend. I've bought 2 bikes there and there customer service is top notch. If Suburban wants to be pricks about it I would contact HD corporate. If it comes to that pm me and I can get you the numbers.

Hey, just curious if you checked all the simple things first?
Oil pressure?
Spark plugs? Fouled?
Ignition wires clipped on good?
Check engine light on? pull a code?
Intake leaks?

Sorry if you covered this, just brain storming...

I checked the plugs twice. gray lean, but no leaner then stock.
No check engine light.

Didn't check for intake leaks or at ignition wires.

Bike ran good for 200 miles. Then started acting up. Last day ran great for first 50 miles, then it got hout and started acting up. Maybe barking up wrong tree, but I am wondering if heat related? Which may make it hard to trouble shoot. I think the heat has passed here.

Salesman called me back, got my voicemail. Appoligizing, and told me to call owner, Scott tomorrow and that he would speak to Scott. Though I though Wayne was the owner.

I will call tomorrow and see what he says.

I told him I been posting on internet forums, and hearing bad stuff. Told him pissed that they are worried about 08s and not there existing custmers.

At first I was very nice, and mild about this. But I am just starting to get irked.

This also comes after they lost $1600 in parts I ordered with the bike!

I'm going to guess loose negative at battery or frame.

Hopefully then warranty. I checked battery connections at 1000 mile. One was hair loose.

I've only had the bike a month.

Unless I read your post wrong, it sounds like this is worse when the tank is full? Check for frayed injector wires under the tank. The additional weight of a full tank might be causing a frayed wire to short out. HD has a history of the wires rubbing under the tank.
