Is the problem with the 01' FLHR or the 07' FLHT?

07, thats why its in the 96 forum

Hopefully it jsut runs good today we can forget about this. But I already ran quite a bit of fresh gas through it. But it ran fine before I gassed up, so the map should be ok. Ahhh

Gas

When you pull to the pump and select 93 for your 3 gallon fill-up, you are most likely getting what the guy ahead of you put in his vehicle.
It all depends on how far the tanks are from the pump.
Have heard of reported cases of 5-7 gallons, before the stuff you wants, gets to the nozzle.
So, when riding with your friends, hang to the back, and let them fill up first.

First fill up after siphoning was 3.5 gallson after that next was .9 to 1.1.

It seemed to run worse after filling up. Was displacing water?

When I put my atv in the creek. I just put fresh gas in, would not run. Finally drained it. I surprised how clear the first couple gallons were. I was draining into a clear container. Then the gas came out.

Only rode 7 miles so far got anothe 80 coming, but its already getting warm. Was hoping to do first 80 when it was cooler.

You keep saying over and over that it happened after you filled up.
Have you drained all the gas out from the first fill that caused the problem?
Have you totally refilled from a totally different gas station?
If yes to both, does the issue still exist?

Or do you still have/still using the suspected bad gas?

First night I siphoned out about 2.5 gallons and put in 3.5. Then next day I put in a 4 gallons, gallon at time. Almost seemed to act up and hestitite, after filling up. I pulled the vent off the valve. I sucked on it, tasted like gas, wooo tasted like gas. Thinking maybe vent problem

Then last night I pulled off crossover house and drained almost all of it. I just can't beleive after 7.5 gallons on new gas and 160+ miles of riding what was in there was still in there. Maybe was floating on top and seperated. Maybe filling mixed it up. Dunno

10 miles of riding today leaving for 80 and 80 more. Hopefully tonight will be smiles.

If you suspect water, stick some dry gas in.

Something is majorly wrong. First 50 miles ran great, next 30 it started bucking, pinging and cutting out. Sat for few hours, about 10 miles and started doing same.

I don't think it is the gas anymore. I drained plus ran it over 350 miles. Something heat related? Started getting hot when it first started acting up

Gave up on the bike. Dropped at dealer. Just called. Said I loaded correct map, but needs to be adjsuted on dyno. $100. Mad at myslef should have left it alone. I can't belive for as bad as it was running, that its just the map.

What ticks me of, is that I am ging to be putting a pipe on soon. So the $100 was a waste of money will need dynoed again.

Bike rode fine when cool out, but when it got hot, started bucking, shaking and pinging

The plot thickens. I called service department, they said they might have it done tonight and are closing soon. Didn't get the orginal guy. But guy said it looks like somebody messed with the induction module, I think he meant me.

All I did was install SE AC.

Told me to call back at 9am. Annoys me, I told the 1st guy I was going on vacatin and shooting for 7am. I wish he would have just called and told me what was going on.

So who knows WTF is going on. Need to talk to the orginal guy.

I wonder if the FI is plugged cause bad gas? Though sounded like guy was accusing me. Hard to say I didn't talk to the original guy.

Hope they get ya back on the road, would be a shame to not enjoy that Ultra on a long trip. It does seem that these bikes may be prone to pinging, my 07 ultra still pings, even after A/C , pipes, sert, an dyno. Mostly when its hot. It doesn't have the cutting out or stumbling prob you described though.

Anti-knock just retards the timing if knock is detected. I think you can rule out bad gas by now. I would look for a frayed wire to the fuel injectors or a short in the ignition.

Well its at the sealer. I only had it a month. First they said, its the correct map but needs to be tweaked. Which I though was weaird cause it ran goiod for 200 miles, and to run that bad.

Then I talk to a differant guy, and I think he was accusing me of messing with the induction module. Which makes me think there guy wasted a bunxch of time and is making something up.
