I originally ordered the HD cooler for my 07 Ultra, they are presently on back order till mid July, so I ordered a Jagg, 10 row low mount cooler, they said it was something new and they didn't have it listed on their website yet, I will be picking it up tomorrow along with the jagg adapter with no thermostat, will post results, bike has been running decent now as far as heat is concerned, but I will be pulling a trailer this summer and there is always that chance for a 95 plus degree day in July, figured it couldn't hurt.

Bought one Harley adapter and pulled cover off to inspect and what do you think I found?
If you guessed burrs in the drilled and milled passages you are right. Small and restrictive openings and yes T-stat's do fail. With a open Jagg adapter you can cover the cooler or install the bypass and the Jagg came with no extra burrs to send through my motor. Just my opinion from 36 years of machine and motor work.

Probably right. Keep it simple.

I installed the new 10 row Jagg lowmount. The HD cooler is only 6 rows.
About a 25* drop in oil temp.
I also did a test before adding the cooler. Removed the lowers. There was no change in oil temps. This was an 82* day, exact same ride and conditions. Mines an 07 so have adjustable vents.

I removed my lowers to cool the rear cyl more than to lower oil temp. My rear cyl temp dropped 30 degrees without the lowers and clear shields.

I have the HD cooler and love it. The bike normally runs in the 205 range now after the cooler and stage 1.

Hd cooler is on back order, is that a bad sign? Only got 50 miles on so niot fit to speak, but I will. So far so good. Runs greats, smooth. Little heat when stopped, but it is air cooled. I haven't done much stop a go yet.

Curtis, could you describe your coolers? I have the HD Premium and was thinking about adding a Jagg to the downtubes. I can't use the 10-row since it won't fit with my air horns, but I'd consider one of the smaller coolers and connect it in series with the HD, thereby maintaining thermostat operation. I'm a bit worried about oil pressure, as it will drop going through a cooler.

With the HD coolers on back order, would not be surprised to find out some 08s are going to have them. Though it might just be summer, people buying them for hot bikes. But wouldn't be surprised.
IMO a touring bike should come with one, since it is meant to travel outside the person normal area. Atleast the Ultra should. But then they would have to admit it needs one.

My 07 runs 240 to 250 without an oil cooler. What could I expect after installing one?

You should see a 15 deg drop with the HD cooler on the 07's.

I switched to syn and cooler on my 01. Can't tell the difference, but it helps in theory. Got one on order for 07

I dropped about 25 degrees but I'm using the new Jagg 10 row low mount.
The HD is 6 row.
