Engine Upgrade/Swap Question...AGAIN

OK, so I have an '09 FLHRCI, the minute it was delivered I had a 110"
SE Big Bore Kit and Power Commander PCV with Autotune installed, after a lifter failure at 17000 mi, I had a Fueling BulletProof CamChest Kit put in, 630 cams,Race Series Lifters&Pushrods, BeeHive Valve Springs, and a Fueling oil pump. at that time the dyno said 108/108 with V&H True Duals. Since then I switched to a D&D Fat Cat w/wrapped louvered baffle. Now along comes the 120R... I'm looking for more hp/tq in a reliable package, so do I put more $ into my current setup (if yes what suggestions) or just order the 120R and be done with it. Thanks in advance!

IMHO, you should have orderd the 120R when the lifter failed. Those dyno numbers are not impressive for a 110"; there are 95" motors putting up those kind of numbers. Order the 120R; you should see 125HP/135TQ out of the box with the true duals.

What kind of power did it make after you changed exhausts ? I have true duals and my buddy's have d&d's, they seem to have more zip down low but out on the road, mine seems a little stronger.

I just had a 120R installed and got 145/141 with a few light massages in place. True duals and it hauls azz! Dyno sheet is in the dyno section if you'd like to see the numbers.

Thumbs up S&S 124" for 09 up baggers

We make a 124" for your 09, comes with a warranty, EZ start Gear Drive Cams, S&S Oil pump which has 30% more oil flow than the SE Pump, Adjustable Pushrods. All for about the same price as the 120R, We also have our Throttle Hog, DBW in 58mm, 66mm, 70mm throttle bodies. These engines have great low end torque and top end power.

The warranty alone would sway me in the direction of the S&S motor.

Your lifter failure was unfortunate and probably unforeseen, but putting a Power Commander on that motor and not getting a "REAL" tune probably contributed to the poor dyno numbers more than anything else. I'm not a big fan of anything "Power Commander" or anything AUTOTUNE...There is no substitute for a human there IMHO.

It's also been my understanding that true duals were power robbers and a good 2-1 generally will kick there ass on a dyno.

Why? A warranty does you NO JUSTICE when you're on the side of the road. I never could understand this mentality. I would, and still do, place zero stock in a warranty.

Now, let that same company/vendor publicly post their return, breakdown, poor quality issues, busted parts percentages and they may earn my business. But NONE of them will.

Warranties are just sales gimmicks. I'd rather buy from someone that can show quality and low issues than someone that flies a great warranty.

Lets see...motor takes a dump on me. Leaves me stranded. leaves my bike down for XX months. Vendor fixed it. Big deal.

Bottom line.....sell quality and we don't need to rely or make buying decisions on a warranty.

like I said....warranties are sales gimmicks.
