Smile Redline rpm when going all the way

Here we go again !!! My brother and another friend got on there bikes for a quick jaunt. Brother has 2002 fatboy stage one 88. Friend has 2007 streetglide 96 speeds cam,a/c and fatcat which dynoed pretty good. They got on it side by side and brother pulled a bike length. I have a 2008 streetglide stage one only but I know how to race better then my friend and not worried about winding up alittle. My brother keeps bugging me about trying it. I told him sure but know quick joint like they did before. I told him how about 20 mph to 100 being my first gear is so high and I dont want to pound it from take off. My question is will I get more with 6000 rpm then say 5500 rpm or not. I have ran it to 6000 rpm in first in second and I get about 80 mph in second doing this but should I stay to 5000 rpm or so for better power. My friend shifted to soon I think and it was way to short to really tell crap. I hear the 2008 with fly by wire is a dog but I think I can get my brother. what ya all think

Stock ecm rpm`s are set to only go to 5800,a stage one download will bring the rpm to 6200 rpm`s this can also be done with a sert but I may be wrong, thats the only way to get more than 5800 rpm`s...

Try it a few times and see what RPM works best for you. Shifting at 5500 you'll likely get the shift in at closer to 6000 anyway. Just have to see how it comes together for you - and practice.

Nothing wrong with running from a dead stop either. You might even look into a test and tune at a local track, get a few more of your buds and have a day of it. Lots of fun and much safer than on the road.

I believe you shift at your peak HP rpm. Where that may be for your bike, I don't know.

Just twist the throttle as far as it will go while mashing down on the heel shifter. The rev limiter will take care of the rest
