Starter noise on 08 96"

I have an 08 Superglide Custom. When starting the bike the starter makes a loud clunk (or clank) as the bire fires and the starter disengages. It only does it as the starter disengages but it makes this clunk noise every time. Neither my 04 88" nor my 92 evo make this noise. The bike has less than 500 miles. Is this normal for the 96" motors? Thanks.
