Question V-Twin Newbie Question

My Saxon Firestorm, 96 ci S&S, just rolled off the trailer. I'm looking it over and i notice a clear plastic "plug" stuck down in the top openings of both cylinders. It almost looks like a mini plunger. This is my first V-Twin and I'm stumped as to what their purpose is. Can someone please enlighten me?

Thanks......

Likely compression releases. Push them both down before you turn it over. They will relieve some of the compression making it easier to start. Do this every time you start it.

thanks for the quick reply ... I'll give it a try although the front one will be a tight squeeze - the head is a little close to the tank.
