octane booster vs.Toluene

I had some time today to consider a higher comp./cam change. Was looking into available fuel and suppliments.I am interested in a bar hopper cam and was reading about octane and other factors regaurding burn rate and it's characteristics.
Looks like the only real booster is made by Lucas besides Torco. But to match the RON/MON in a equivelent,Toluene mix is cost prohibitive. Any input, yeah I'm bored.

If all you are interested in is a bar hopper, no long distance riding, then your options are much greater. You could buy drums of race gas or airplane gas (100 octane). Or you could mix your own pump gas/toluene combinations.
Some discussion of toluene here:

Jam,

I've been fighting a ping on my 07 RKC (stock compression) and have used NOS octane booster @3oz per 5 gallon and no ping. Most of the stuff you see in the parts stores is a waste of $$$ it only changes your octane a few 10ths of an octane number. My understanding is 6 points = 0.6 (93.0 to 93.6) 60 points is 6.0 octane #'s (93 to 99). NOS is using MMT, not for street use (ya right)… I buy it at a high performance car shop.

Here's an interesting link with more gasoline info… http://www.faqs.org/faqs/autos/gasoline-faq/part2/
