Oil Cooler Leaking - One Solution

Like many of you my properly installed and torqued HD Premium Oil Cooler leaked on my EG where the cooler mounted to the oil filter mount. Initially, I removed the entire assembly but with oil temps frequently reaching 250+ I wanted a cooler. The solution for me was to install the Jag 4600/4700 (I used the 4600) oil cooler adapter and the HD cooler. The Jag adapter is made very well and offsets the oil filter so that it can still be removed via cup wrench. Unfortunately, this is another $100.00 invested in this cooler, but the result is a high quality installation that lowers oil temps about 30 degrees. You won't be disappointed.

Got the Jag cooler and adapter on mine and they are great units, but one problem I ran into is when you go to remove the filter again the whole adapter wants to spin with the filter then you have to redo the whole thing. When you go to redo the filter you need to stick something between the adapter and frame to keep it from spinning and you got to watch what filters you run, some don't seal as well as others and you have to tighen the crap out of them to keep them from seaping.

Hey Atrick - FYI - Jag makes a device to prevent that.

You got anymore info on that cause it would sure make it easier on the filter changes! I didn't seen that when I ordered mine.

I don't have the Jagg number but it is called an anti rotation devise and sells for about $10. bucks. I have to get one to. It screws onto the adapter and stops the adapter from coming loose by jaming it from turning
