Fire (not flames) from exhaust and Misfire

New to posting, but been here a while!

I have an 08 Crossbones with about 2500 mies. Put the Rhineharts and RSD air cleaner on about 1500 miles ago. Ran great until yesterday. I rode about 100 miles before returning home. It ran fine. About 2 miles from home, we stopped to eat. On the way from the restaraunt things turned bad.

I hit a pretty hard bump (not sure if it is relevant). After the bump, gave the bike a handful of throttle and it took off. BUT, when I let off the throttle to shift, it totally broke up. Now it's only running on one cylinder. Limped it back to the house and shut it off. While off, the fumes from the front cylinder ignited and I had a fire on my hands.

Anybody know what would cause the cylinder to crap out? I tried changing plugs with no luck. It idled ok but when I took it for a ride, the front cylinder took a crap after half a block. Then when I restarted it, it idled fine again, but this time smoke was coming from the front pipe. Here are a few mods that are done:

- Rhinehart Crossbacks
- RSD air cleaner
- Cobra FI2000R fuel management
- Pingle struts

Thanks in advance!

Quick update. After riding it again, I finally got some codes. Not sure if I got 2 separate codes or if I just misread them. One was p0131 front o2 sensor low(lean). The other may have been misread since it is close. It was p01131 at voltage low. What exactly is at voltage? Also, would a bad o2 sensor cause the cylinder to shut down? Thanks!

Start trouble shooting by checking all the connections or even pulling off the Cobra and see if that corrects the problem. I don't think it would be a O2 sensor.

Thanks Brownie! (May I call you Brownie?). I figured out I had a broken wire at the o2 sensor. The wires from the Cobra pigtails are EXTREMELY thin and must have rubbed either the frame or regulator bracket. Pulled off the Cobra and she fired right up and ran great. Too bad the wiring is chinsy cause I really liked the Cobra setup - no large connectors and no mapping necessary. I ordered a new fuel management system today. Thanks again!

Hey, that is great! I'm glad it worked out. Brownie is fine.
