O2 sensors and mods

I searched.....really.

How much can the O2 sensors compensate for when doing slip-ons and air cleaners? Isn't that the idea of the loop system? Why is there a stage one download when the system is designed to keep the air fuel ratio in a certain spec? I'm looking at getting a new FL with a 96" and am trying to learn all I can before I buy. I'll probably get a Geezer-Glide sooner than later.
Is there certain years of 96" to avoid?

Faast Ed is an unknown quantity at this point
I'd avoid the 07's. First year of anything seems to have quirks (even cars).
Many had issues with deck hight, tranny whine and heat. (Some didn't, so spare me the "mine is trouble free" posts). LOL

Seems to be a very narrow range that they "compensate" at (the closed loop).

Have not seen you post in a while good to see you. The 02 sensor does not have enough range to adjust for the add on you installed. Now that is until you tune the bike. Once tuned and you get the afr to say 14.3 with a 02 bias of 781 ( example) it will then be able to toggle some and keep your afr with the specs. Feel free to give me a call or even stop up at the shop and I will show you the TTS sheeets from a before and after set up and you will see how far they need to be adjusted with just the basic exhuast and air cleaner mods. Have a 09 on the dyno today with a/c V&H t-duals and monster ovals.

In the end a tuner is the only way to get the bike correctly tuned, money well spent. Take care

I have a 2009 FLHX with 1,000 miles on it that seems to run really lean. It coughs, spits and stumbles between 2,000 RPM and 2,800 RPM. It seems like you will need to have someone dial in the injection even on a bone stock bike.

I would find a good local motorcycle shop and shoot the breeze with them before pulling the trigger on a new bike.
