Putting it all together...
Been reading a lot in this forum on 96" to 103" builds. I will summarize what I have learned and ask some questions and see what comments I get back.
I think this is the direction I want to go:
Pistons - SE Flat tops (stated CR 10:1, I assume this is static?)
Cams - Wood TW6-6
Cylinders - new or get the old ones bored?
Heads - stock with possible mild porting, read reports that the 07 stock heads are pretty good already?
Head gasket - stock (don't think I need the extra CR)
Push rods - can I use the stock push rods here? (since I will be tearing the top end down I won't need adjustable EZ install)
As per my sig, I already have D&D Fat Cat 2-1 with the standard baffle and a SE A/C, the Fuelpak will have to go, leaning hard towards the TTS Mastertune.
I am mostly single up touring, want the low end torque and rarely run past 5,000 RPM.

Sounds like a decent build for you. Get the old cylinders bored and use a .030" gasket to give you a better squish band. If you can swing it I would highly recommend the porting and have the heads cc'ed to get the chamber size or you'll be totally guessing on your compression ratio. 10:1 with some porting will really have that cam breathing. You can reuse you stock pushrods to unless you have the heads milled a lot. The Mastertune is first class too, if you can find a tuner who knows how to use it. Sound like a solid build and don't forget new lifter if the old ones have a lot of miles on them.

You might check out KB pistons. their cast pistons are much superior and all of their pistons have insets cut for oversize valves
Cams - Wood TW6-6
Cylinders - new or get the old ones bored?
Have the old ones bored, or pick up some to have done. Have them done to the pistons, there is a dimension problem here and you want them to match.
Heads - stock with possible mild porting, read reports that the 07 stock heads are pretty good already?
Stock heads with proper porting for the build, larger intake valves, and springs(if needed)
Head gasket - stock (don't think I need the extra CR)
A thinner gasket allows for better quench, size the combustion chambers accordingly for the cams, the stock heads can easily be off as much as 3CCs. get them sized for your build. Don't ask how i know
Push rods - can I use the stock push rods here? (since I will be tearing the top end down I won't need adjustable EZ install)
If it is within .030 or so, you will be fine. you can go farther

That is "THE" tuner to have!

For single up, you could want a little more top end. The TW6-6 has more than the Andrews 26, but you might want to look at some others - WHICHEVER ONE YOU USE, MATCH YOUR BUILD!

Does anyone know of a good shop in Southern Alberta that can do the head work?

Turk,
I have a set of FT stock 3.875" pistons from my '07 FLHTP...They had 900 miles on them...You can have them for the cost of shipping. Just add a set of new rings and have your old cylinders bored...
I have a set of RR525 for '07-'08...If you're interested..
Made some great low end torque with the Hillside StageII heads..
If you're in southern AB why not cross the boarder and UPS them down to Scott..Prices north of the boarder are steep for comparable services.Good luck.
Cheers
