SE Plugs & Wires - worth it?

Just wondering, I already have Slip-ons, K&N kit, Harley Download, and soon adding V&H FuelPak.

So, any benefit to adding SE Plugs & Wires, catalog does list them for 2007 with ECM, any interference with ECM, etc., or waste of money?

SE plugs are overpriced. Go for a good NGK or other quality plug.

As for the SE wires, I've heard anecdotal evidence that the SE wires had no appreciable effect on performance as measured on a dyno, but that other "performance" wires did.

I bought them only for the color of the wires, red wires look good on a black bike For something like $15 for a set of Dyna spark wires, it wasn't a bad deal

I'm too lazy to direct you to threads where this has been discussed but I seem to recall people in the know suggested sticking with stock stuff. It's possible this only applies to injected bikes.

This diagnosis is worth exactly what you paid for it.

I have never used any plug except the stock HD plug...until last week. I got the triple platinum spltt fire style SE plugs and yes..my bike seems more responsive. Maybe it's my imagination and I'm just saying to myself that for $16 it SHOULD ride better...but actually..it's smoother in accelerationa nd more responsive. I'm sure I will get varying responses on this...but only my butt knows the difference.

Magnecor wires are, in my opinion (based on experience), an excellent choice.

They have a great FAQ at http://www.magnecor.com/magnecor1/frequent.htm

fwiw, ymmv, etc.

I've used SE plug wires on 2 builds , didn't notice any difference.

I used SE platinums plugs on my hi comp 95 , no significant change.

I can think back not too long ago where HD had a TSB on those wires. Stating that they where not to be used with EFI due to issues with RFI and the ECM. I have not seen any HP/ tq gains with wires for the street engines.
