08 AIR FILTER - Does K&N RK-3909 FIT?
Can anyone confirm if the K&N RK-3909 fits with the '08 Electraglides? K&N doesn't show it in their compatible list anymore - but maybe they just havent got around to testing it.

I read the 08's take a different air filter because of a larger throttle body. doubt the k&n will fit.

HI.
I have this kit on my 2007, I looked at my bosses 2008, and I really doubt it would without modifying the back plate and throwing out the stack.
I think at this point, the SE is your only choice.

Thanks Guys.... guess I should have waited for my '08 before I bought the RK3909. So, at this point the only option is the SE?
... sent my K&N RK3909 back to K&N in CA - they offered to give me a full refund, even though I purchased the 3909 from Zanotti's a year ago.

With the fact the the SE Heavy Breather has a new specific model for the 08's, my guess is there would be something different in the TB.

Dealer told me the SE AC would be out before KN AC. I'm thinking I might go with the SE and buy the KN filter when a new filter is needed (SE's aren't washable)?? Sounds like that might be more expensvie though.

I just installed a SE stage one AC on my 07 Street Glide. In the instructions HD states to roll the element in a cleaning solution and then let it dry out. They also state this is a dry element and not to spray any type of oil lubricant on the element. Can anyone explain this? The element looks to be the same as the one used on my 05 RK SE stage one AC. What is the difference. The element does not look to be a paper element material, but rather a K&N oiled type of material.

This is what i posted in another forum. Looks like it would be appreciated here though.
--------------------
In an ongoing attempt on any vehicle i own i try to find the best VALUE for my money. Not neccisarily CHEAPEST but the "best bang for the buck"
Now my prices will be screwy for Americans as Canadian prices are about 25%-30% higher even though our buck is the same.
My setup cost me LESS than the dealer SE 29773-02C Air Cleaner and it includes the K&N air filter AND the Screamin Eagle Air Cleaner Trim Ring for 07-08 Bikes.
In Canada they sell the 29773-02C for about $175-$185 bucks
Here are the part numbers, quantities, prices and where to get them...
Please remember this is in CANADA so the prices are screwy to Americans but the part numbers are all the same.
LOCAL DEALER
Wrinkle Black SE back plate 29586-06 1x $44.09ea (Chrome is $5 bucks more? i think)
O-Ring 11292 1x $1.79ea
Breather Plug 29557-05 2x $13.49ea
Air Filter Gasket 29583-01A 1x $4.49ea
Air Cleaner Mounting Stud 29447-99A 3x $12.59ea (Expensive lil bastards!)
SE Air Cleaner Insert 29503-07 1x $9.89ea
CANADIAN TIRE
K&N Air Filter HD-0800 1x $49.50ea (Canadian Tire strikes again!)
Screws (HD part #3938 but get them at the hardware store) 1/4-20unc x 3/8 long 3x $0.50ea
Grand total is $177.80 and thats what HD charges for the "basic" SE A/C that comes with a cruddy paper air filter, no fancy trim ring and plain backing plate.
I have a copy of the newest instructions (because they come with the new better backing plate)
Black Backing Plate
