I had a code come up for my fuel injection. I fixed the problem but still get the historic code.

Anyone know how to clear the code history ?

First off....

Wherever it came from and whoever contributed, thank you. This is one of the most informative, simple and useful posts I've ever come across.

Fault Code P2061 - Front Injector Open/Low EFI
Fault Code P1353Front Cylinder No Combustion EFI

Wouldn't these two go hand in hand? Could this actually refer to something as simple as a bad plug wire on the front cylinder?

Warranty Expired two weeks ago so looking for the simplest solution first.
The symptoms are misfires and engine light occasionally. Thought it was bad gas but it has happened twice now, months apart and once after a fillup, the first time though was a week and 100 miles after the fill up. The problem is even intermittemnt when it happens. Sart off and misfires engine light, 30 seconds at constant rpm, all is ok, light goes out. Accelerate, problem again with same symptoms.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

THANK YOU i just used it on my bike today cuz it died on me and it came up with the code p1001 and p1003 for my system rely which is what i thunk it might be well low and behold thats what those codes are so i guess ill buy a new relay monday and see if it does the trick thanks again for that post

Eng Light

I have a friend that has a 99 E-Glide with Fuel Injected. When he turns on his ignition switch the engine light comes on as it suppose to, after about 4 seconds goes out. Once he starts the engine, the engine light comes back on for about 6 seconds and goes off. The light does not come on while riding the bike, only after he starts it. The dealer could not find anything wrong. Does anyone have any ideas???

Thanks for this valuable post. On a recent long trip my check light came on and continued to come on and off for the rest of the ride (2,000+ miles) The bike continued to run fine except for my cruise failing. This morning I checked the codes and got the P0113 (IAT Sensor Voltage open/high EFI) What do I do now? Sensor connection looks OK! Do I simply replace the sensor or clear the code and see if it occurs again?

The best "first" thing to do in this case is to hit the Search link at the top of any page. Putting the P0113 code into it will give you 10 hits, including this one: Diagnostic Trouble Code: P0113.

CKP – Crank Position Sensor. The CKP generates an “AC signal” which is sent to the ECM where it is used to reference engine position (TDC) and speed. Home position established by taking readings off the 22 teeth on the alternator rotor.

DTC – Diagnostic Trouble Codes

ECM – Electronic Control Module. (The Computer) Computes the spark advance for proper ignition timing and fuel control based on sensor inputs (from CKP, MAP & TP sensors) and controls the low-voltage circuits for the ignition coils and injectors. The dwell time for the ignition coil is also calculated in the microprocessor and is dependent upon battery voltage. The programmed dwell feature gives adequate spark at all speeds.

ECT – Engine Coolant Temperature. Sensor also controls the cooling fan relay that provides 12 Vdc to the fans.

EFI – Electronic Fuel Injection

EFP – Electronic Fuel Pump

ET – Engine Temperature sensor

FI – Fuel Injectors

FPR – Fuel Pressure regulator

IAC – Idle Air Control actuator

IAT – Intake Air Temperature sensor

ISS – Ion Sensing System…detonation detection

MAP – manifold Absolute Pressure sensor. The MAP sensor monitors the intake manifold pressure (vacuum) and sends the information to the ECM. The EMC then adjusts the spark and fuel-timing advance curves for optimum performance.

TP – Throttle Position Sensor

TSM/TSSM (Turn Signal/ Turn Signal Security Module)

VE – Volume Efficiency

VSS – Vehicle Speed Sensor. Used as an input for idle speed control

The service manual is very carefully written so that you will never find this information.. all it says is to take the bike to your local dealer..
HD even screws you on their cheezy service manual..
You can find this information in the SERT manual and I am sure a few other places...

When you buy a service manual say from General Motors for your truck.. well it comes with all the technical information....

Buy the HD service manual and you get something akin to a cheap A$$ how to manual with very little more than the basic technical information....

a bud of mine has a 99 police special road king with 50,000 miles on it ,we thought it was the bank angle sensor tested it but it was good,we don't have the equipt. to run dognostic ck but this info really helps its pointing to cam sensor,I rode shovels my hole life and this electronic stuff is great till ya start having problems,I have a new street glide and really enjoy riding it,especially when I climbed off a ridgid frame after 17 years,has anyone any quick ideas beside bringing to the dealer,the poor boy way..............

Help!

I've got a 2003 FLHRCi (Road King Classic). Starting last week, I keep having the 'check engine' (why does it look like a car engine, and not a V-Twin, btw??) come on.

I turn on the ignition, then hit the run button. Wait until the check engine light & the one next to it go out, and hit start. About eight or ten seconds later, the check engine light comes on for a few seconds then goes out. I've also glanced down while riding, and occasionally see it lit for a few seconds.

The only noticeable symptom while riding, was on a couple occasions it would "sputter," usually on an upshift from first to second gear.

I tried both sequences listed in this thread, trying to see if there are codes stored.

The first one (set to RUN, hold odometer button, turn on ignition) and I see the same as others have mentioned, which is d01Clr through d10Clr, etc. Apparently that procedure doesn't work on pre-04 bikes, so that's normal.

I tried the second procedure (set to RUN, cycle Ignition in either 5-second on/off intervals, or 4 on / 3 off intervals), and it doesn't show anything either. I just get the check engine light as before (comes on after eight or ten seconds, for a few seconds, then goes out).

Other than taking this to the dealer, or spending big money on a scan tool, is there a solution to pull the code(s)?

Does jumpering the 1 & 2 wires work, as suggested?
