While we appreciate the time it took you to type all that out be careful what you say about Hippo. He is very well liked and respected here. He's also forgotten more about Harleys than most of us will ever know.

I just responding to what harleyhog said, "I got this from HIPPO in HTT". I just know what I did. The content was mainly from Harley-Davidson. Anyone can buy the HD book and it wasn't the service manual. Some of the definitions, i.e CKP, came from another source (I know where). I just used some of my own wording. I asked people in this forum for this information. There was only one person that responded and he responded by e-mail. He told me to come to the harley shop where he worked and he would make a copy for me. I never went to the harley shop where he worked. I decided to purchase the book myself. After typing all that information, I decided that this was good stuff and wanted to SHARE it with everyone.

Thanks for the post and the time it took you to type it out. My bike stored a code the other day. Tonight I will see what it's all about!

Would this be the procudure that the dealers use, or do they plug something in like a PDA or computer to download the codes ?

Thanks

Thank you for your welcomed comment.
There are people in this Forum that work for dealers that could better answer your question. I've heard of others saying the dealer used a code reader on their bike. What I've witnessed was the dealer hooking my bike(s) to another computer. I guess... so that they can charge you $.$$? It's just nice that HD has the IM display DTC's whenever you need the information.

Help with the codes

Just ran the codes on my 05 Super Glide and I get a 60563 in the S field. The codes listed have a letter followed by 4 numbers, can I safely assume the first 6 should actually be a lower case B?

Other Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs)

See INITIAL DIAGNOSTIC CHECK: TSM/TSSM for any
codes related to the turn signal module (TSM) or turn signal
security module (TSSM).

See INITIAL DIAGNOSTIC CHECK: SPEEDOMETER for
any codes related to the speedometer or tachometer.

Do these trouble codes work on an 03 RoadKing as well as an 04?
