SHCS For Clutch Inspection Cover?

Has anyone swapped these cheesy T27 button heads for stainless socket head cap screws (allen bolts)? Any reason not too?

I swapped mine for allen button heads, which I like just slightly better than the torx button heads. So far I haven't rounded any off, but allen socket heads would be better. With my derby cover, the heads would be recessed far enough that I don't think there would be any danger of catching a pant leg on them. Other than that, can't see any reason you shouldn't change them. 1/4-20x1/2".

I'm in the processing of replacing every friggin torx head with polished ss 12 point bolts. I'm not going to replace them all at once, but I refuse to ever tight a torx head down on my bike again!

FYI,SHCS have a deeper hex than button heads.Button heads can strip easy if overtightend or if a worn hex wrench is used.

Button heads suck whether it's torx or allen. But i like the low profile head for the derby so i deal with it. I am still using the original torx on my derby and have had it off serveral time without stripping a bolt. You have to use the right bit, keep constant pressure on the head when tightening/loosening and do not over torque.

12 point stainless from alloy boltz. You'll never strip the head out and the stainless looks great forever.
