Cam chain tensioners & warranties

I read a post here stating that HD now considers the cam chain tensioners a wear item.
So the question is,will they(HD) cover the cost of replacement under the 2 yr. and extended warranties???

I don't think so. Wear items are like tires, brakes, etc. They are not that hard to replace.

My buddy just had his replaced under the extended warranty, no questions asked. In fact it was the HD service department that noticed the noise was because of cam tensioners. He has the 100 year anniversary Electra Glide Classic.

Sad, if an item internal to the engine, is wear item. They should be striving for 100k mile engine. If you have to replace these pads, to me that eninge did not last xxx miles. They should be making an enigne that will go 80-100k without being opened. But hey its HD we expect problems, and just chalk it up to being Harley. Best thing for these bikes will be, Harley riders die.

In there defense lifters have to be adjusted on some bikes. Either way I want better.
