I just had a 103 kit w/race tuner installed on my 2004 fat boy. Should I break in this motor the same as the original 88b per harley's book. Also should I be doing a oil change after the first 300 mi. or sooner. The shop wants me to have 1500 miles on the build before final tuning. Thanks for any help or sugestions, Dan. Olympia Wa.

That is what I did. Treat it as a new motor which it is. You will get all kinds of replies to this from run it hard from day one to do it by the book. I just did the conservative approach to let the parts mate up a bit an the the rings seat a bit before letting the hammer down. You will enjoy that motor it has some good low end power, especially on a softail as opposed to a bagger like I have.

Your choice if you want to drop the fluids and change them after 300 or not. I did it at 1000 and then again at 3000.

Ride and enjoy if your weather permits this new years weekend.
