.030 head gaskets

I read that TW37's like a little higher compression.
Will installing a .030 Head Gasket to increase compression with stock heads help the cams and be worth the effort or should I just wait till I can afford headwork? Thanks

The .030 will increase about .40, so lets say your comp ratio is 9.25 to 1 with the SE flat tops, going with the .030 gaskets will get you near 9.65 to one.
Can't see how that would hurt your cam choice but more importantly it is known that the .030 squish band works well and reduces the tendency to ping.
Hope that helps.

I'm not a horsepower expert by any means but I can tell ya that it's a lot of tear down just for the gasket swap.....and then have to do it all again when you get the heads set out. If she is running fine right now, I would wait until you could do the whole enchillada at once and save the cost of a second set of gaskets and the tear down time.....unless you just like to tear things apart for the fun of it......like me!

Geez with Fatboyskip, need remedial reading here. Jumped to the conclusion that you were doing this in your build, and not after. If your going to do the heads later than for sure I would make that move.
