I use Amsoil now. Buy it from one of the sponsors. Like $6.25 qt. I usually buy it by the case or gallon. Filters, gear oil, all at a discount. Good stuff. I used to use Red-Line but it got too expensive and to hard to find.

I've heard that Amsoil is very good.
Sure wish they would sell Amsoil locally. I only use products I can get anywhere in a store when I need them.

They are sold locally, especially where you live. Just go on Amsoil's website and you'll be able to find a local retailer that will give you the discount if you have a preferred member card.

Damn, can't even remember what the original question was. Started reading when it was 4 pages and now it's what, 11??? Baisley spring?
My bike is quiet so I don't think I will try this but I was wondering. If the new spring increases the relief valve opening pressure by 5 pounds or so it will benefit only after the stock pressure is reached. And I thought with all the reports of single number pressures at idle that the new spring would only benefit at higher rpm's. Or is that measuring pressure at a different location than a typical pressure guage?

It raises pressure across the board....at idle and at speed. In your case, though, If it ain't broke, don''t fix it.

I installed my Baisley Spring this weekend and the bike still sounds like a typwritter. Don't have a gauge so no way for me to tell if the pressure increased by 5 lbs.
Question? Why do some get great results while others hear/see no difference?

I sell Amsoil to forum members at dealer prices right from our closest warehouse. If you want to buy locally I may be able to find you a shop or store that carries Amsoil, but you will pay a couple dollars a quart more than my prices.

I stick with the mileage interval also, can't think of any reason to do otherwise.

Old oil is supposed to be corrosive.

Harley must feel that their oils rust fighting ability is not up to par so they don't want you to take a chance of letting oil set on the gears that may be saturated with corisive condensation. It's called CYA!

Amsoil's position on the engine oil is up to twice the oil change interval of what HD recommends or one year what ever comes first. I don't believe this applies though to the primary and tranny, which they state 10,000 miles for the primary and 20,000 for the tranny with no disclaimer like Hd uses.

Ok I've never tried AMS oil and don't know where to get it in Hawaii, but I CAN tell you that my bike runs COOLER on Syn3 than regular dyno oil!

For those with the spring, what are you now seeing as oil presure once warm (say at idle and at 2500 RPM or so). Just installed mine, and the presure is higher than I expeced, so want to make sure I do not have something wrong.
Thanks
