Speedo is fogging up

I have a 05 fxd,it has been unseasonly warm here in Indiana the last few days and very humid.I have only been caught in the rain 1 time since buying the bike in august.(luck) It sits inside at work and is always in my garage.Yesterday morning the speedo was foggy and moisture had actually collected at the bottom corner of the bezel.I dont power wash the bike.Anybody else had this problem.Wonder if the mo co will cover this. This is the 1st problem with the bike other than it being cold blooded.Thanks.................................... .......Gary05superglide

Im sorry to say the Dam things just are poorly built. Mine did the same thing to me one cold day when the sun was hitting on it going down the road at 70.
So far as I know there is not a thing you can do but by a quality aftermarket unit.

There is or was a small hole in the bottom of both the speedo and tach on my '02 FXDX. An ant crawled into the speedo and died, then a spider got into the tach and started spinning a web. I saw the thing crawling around while riding one day. I was slightly pissed. Took both of them apart and cleaned the glass and sealed the holes. Think I will do it again next season and reclean the glass and coat it with something. The speedo still looks a little hazy. It really isn't that difficult. Remove bottom plate, disconnect wiring, push the thing up through the housing. Taking the bezel off was a little scary. It is molded around the top and you have to pry it over a 1/8 inch edge. The paint did crack some but it was easy to touch up. You'd never know they were taken apart.

They wouldn't cover it on my buddy's '03 FLHTCUI...

G Everett, might try using a hairdryer on the speedo to dry the inside, then plugging the holes.

Your instruments are normal, and no , HD wont replace them. They were never designed to be "sealed units" and the hole is there on purpose. As it warms up itll breath and clear on its own. I would think sealing that hole would cause more problems really. All of my gauges will fog to some extent, the fuel gauge being the worst. Heck..this is the first bike i ever had that had a speedo u could actually read so im tickled pink.....P

That's what you would think would happen, but it doesn't work that way with my HD mini tach. This stupid tach starts off totally clear & then fogs up a ring about 1/4" wide around the face as I ride down the road.

It doesn't really interfere with the operation of it, but it is annoying as hell. I have seen other people post that their tach does exactly the same thing.

yeah my speedo and fuel gauge fog up on my 05 fatboy. not to mention that my fuel level will stick on the full mark even when im about empty. oh well, never had the nicety of a fuel gauge on my evo. i still reset my odometer and go by that anyways.
