Electrical Problems
I have a 2002 Softtail Duece. I had been riding for a few hours on a hot day, stopped and shut the bike off, after about an hour went to start the bike and had nothing when I pressed the start button. Had plenty of juice coming from the battery and was able to push start the bike and ride it home. After push starting the bike the engine light stayed lit and I had no turn signals. Other than that, the bike ran fine the all the home. The next day I removed the seat and remove each fuse looking at them and placing them back in thinking that one of them might have blown, but they where all fine. After checking all the fuses, the bike started up as if there was never anything wrong with it. Since that day, I have ridden it several times with no problems and then it happened again. This time I had been riding for about an hour when I stopped and shut the bike off. After about 20 minutes, went to start it and had the same problem again. Once again, I was able to push start it and get it back home with the engine light staying on and no turn signals. Once again after the bike had set overnight and cooled down, I was able to remove the fuse (this time narrowing it down to the ‘Security Fuse”). Once I removed it and placed it back in the bike started and ran fine. This has since happened to me 3-4 more times. Each time after the bike cools and I remove the security fuse, it works fine again. I have a repair manual, and from what I have read, all indications are pointing towards the “Turn Signal Security Module”, but at a cost of almost 300.00, I would rather be sure than just guessing. Is there a way to check this to see if it is causing my problem or is there something else that I should be checking first? Can anyone tell me what might be causing this and how to correct it?

Are you getting the 6 flashes of your emergency flashers, which indicates a stored trouble code in the TS/SM?
