HDSB07 wants to know Dino or Syn?
Mileage/reliability

I know it will vary on many factors but in general what is the reliable life expectency of an engine as far as mileage/age?

No reason why they can't do 100k fairly easy, some have done more.
Now some have failures due to cam chain tensioners coming apart and causing more problems, also the INA inner cam bearings can cause problems.
But major components, top end, bottom end, transmission etc, if maintained can go quite a while if the bike is maintained.

I'd change the inner cam bearings and tensioners to the hydralic set up or it's the luck of the draw, which My inner bearings were starting to go at 32K and took out the cams, also the tensioners were bad.

My evo fxr now has about 102,000 on it and is running fine. No engine work needed as yet.

I have seen several EVO's with over a 100k on them with nothing more than oil changes.

Yup, should go 100K with some luck and some maintenance.

I recently met a guy with a 05 UC with 202,000 miles on it, so with proper maintenance you can run it indefinitely.
