Which Stage 1 Air Cleaner?

I bought 2003 ultra w/ SE mufflers. A buddy said I needed to install a stage 1 air cleaner since I had those mufflers.

Can anyone give me some advice as to which one I get and where?

The Arlen Ness Big Sucker is hard to beat for the coin...Eastern Performance usually has them for around $100 shipped. There's many other good ones too but the price goes up.

SE mufflers do not require a stage 1 air cleaner. If you install the stage 1 air cleaner you will then have to have your ECM reflashed.

So, either keep stock cleaner or add stage one cleaner and reflash ecm?

What does reflashed mean? Reset air/fuel mixture?

Is that a pricey adjustment?

The Ness is the cheapest alternative. At Stage 1, you're really not going to see a difference in air cleaners. You will have to do something about fuel management. In my opinion, the dealer download is worthless (my bike ran lean as ever with it). If you ever plan on doing anything else with the motor, get a TTS.

That is something the dealer can do. It usually costs $150. What is does is reset the air/fuel mixture because with the stage 1 air cleaner more air will be flowing through your engine.
