Cable Lube in my Transmission??

I lube my clutch cable by removing it from the hand lever and tying a plastic baggie around the cable and putting a couple of ounces of cable lube in the bag so it drains down my cable. Maybe I`m just being picky, but a couple of ounces of cable lube ends up in my transmission case when I lube the clutch cable in this manner. I use 20W50 synthetic in my transmission. Does any body know if this may be harmful to the transmission. I`m debating changing my transmission oil just to be safe...Thanks all...

no it won't hurt anything but next time use whatever you are using in your tranny to lube the cable. I use the baggy method and put an ounce so of gear lube. It does not take very much.

That lube won't hurt anything... also sounds like you may want to think of a heavier tranny fluid will quiet it down too. Unless you live in the snow.....I just squirt W-D40 in the lines. Stuff is so light and mixes well with anything
