Anybody Install Dakota Digital Gauges?
I have a 2001 FLHT Standard, received a set of gen-1 gauges...the ones that have to be hard wired. The issue is with the oil pressure sending unit they provide with the kit. The problem is that the bolt diameter that goes into the block is about half the size of the hole. After calling them, they said that the only solution is a bushing that they carry..(evidentally I'm not the onle one who have had this problem!). Upon further tinkering, I notice that even with a bushing, the outer diameter of the sensor is so much bigger, that only about 1/3 of the thread will go in before the sending unit starts hitting the base plate for the oil filter. Anyone else have this happen? And how did you fix it? The only thing I can come up with is letting the bushing stick out from the block enough so that the unit will screw in all the way, while clearing the base plate. They are going to send me 5 different bushings......suggestions?
