strange engine noise

my 2002 roadking makes a knocking noise mostly after a long hard run and it sits for a hour or so, start it up and it knocks for about one minute or so, and sometimes when it sits overnight, but not all the time, started it two days in a row and no noise, but if i run it all day and it sits overnight it will knock when i start it in the morning, the bike has 41000 miles on it , and just had new lifters, cam bearings, cam tentioners &chains, cam plate and oil pump installed, dealer thought one lifter was bleeding down so put new lifters in again, same problem, i use amsoil 20/50 and filter every 4000 miles.
any ideas? would comp nut do this or would it do it all the time? hot or cold, my engine is quiet when it warms up.

I think your dealer is correct in saying that a lifter is bleeding down. The front exhaust lifter is famous for doing that. As long as it goes away quickly you shouldn't have a problem. No I don't think it is comp nut, if it was loose you would have vibration and it should knock all the time.
