Loose B-Bearing in case

I removed my cam cover to install the Beasley Spring. When the cover broke free of the engine a ball bearing rolled out on the floor. Not good. I believe this bearing is construction plug from a cam support plate oil passage. My worry is if I simply tap i back into place it will simply fall out again. I was considering tapping and plugging the hole. Anyone ever try this or know why this wouldn't be a good idea?

Thanks.

On 1999 engines when you do a cam conversion with the new style support plate you have to tap one port and plug it with a 1/4bolt. Use 1/4" tap X 20.

If you are using a HD Digital Oil Temp dipstick, the ball bearing could be from that POS.

claydbal will become famous soon enough
i reported the same thing a few months back. the ball was from the center port of the three on top of the cam plate! i figured when i heated the plate, and installed bearings, it loosened and then just fell out?

The billet plates we use have pipe plugs everywhere, no balls.
