Crank position sensor oil leak/seepage?

I have a oil leak/seepage around my crank position sensor that just started recently. Before I buy a new one, I'm looking for some input. Here is what I’ve done to date.

1) check for an obvious crack - not seen (both hot and cold)
2) changed o-ring (twice) did not see anything wrong with any of them
3)put pipe thread dope on bolt and put RTV on underside of mating surface.

when I did (3) above, it did slowed the leak to minimal seepage/wet spot around the sensor that only appeared after running at high speed (80-90 mph). I put 100 mile on city driving with no leakage, but as soon as I got out on the highway it started seeping. The seepage is coming from the bolt side of the sensor housing - leading me to believe either the housing is leaking(cracked - but don't see it!) or there is oil coming up from the bolt (which I find hard to believe with all the pipe dope on those threads).

Any thoughts?

My broinlaw just had one replaced due to a crack.Oil all over the place, broke down on the side of the road.
It's possible it broke when installing the oil filter.
I would remove it and inspect it carefully with a magnifying glass.
Might be better just to replace it IMO.
