leak between trans and motor....

I have an 03 super glide with about 38000 miles on it. It seems to have developed a seep between motor and transmission, has anyone else experienced this before?? I assume it will gradually get worse. What would possibly be involved in correcting this....motor and transmission pulled completely out??? One wrench told me the motor would have to be completely split apart. Any input would be appreciated.....

There is nothing to fix, there are no fluids between those two components. There isn't even any sealant. What IS there is an open cavity, which allows road debri and other krap up inside between the engine and tranny.

Best option is to use a good cleaner and some elbow grease.

The black residue you're seeing is fretting between the two surfaces. The MoCo should have installed a gasket or shim between them but didn't. Nothing you can do but clean.

Ditto

Ditto on what Gulfstream said, just clean it off from time to time and enjoy your ride.
