my 96 dyna conv has 35,000 miles and has started to shake alot at idle, and even a high speed. could the front motor mount be damaged or worn out and letting this happen. i suspect this to be the problem because it seems to be loose there at idle. all of the bolts that mount it to the frame and to the motor are tight, so that aint it. any thoughts on this, or any other cause would be great. thanks
Look at this thread . Some dude mentions that he replaced a mount and it improved things.
I replaced my front motor mount at around 20k when it was 4 years old. My engine flopped around enough within the frame to bend the heat shield on the aftermarket front pipe. I noticed no change in vibration with the new mount. IMHO a waste of $110.
Have you tryed adjusting the engine stablizer (top engine mount located between the cylinders)?
