37g tuning
I have an 05 dyna with a doherty power pacc and supertrapp 2-1 pipe and a power commander.I had 37gcams installed.I am hoping to just run this configuration without a big bore or head work for a while. The bike runs great except in the lower rpms where there is a stumble. My question is can the stumble be tuned out with my power commander?

The short answer is yes, the stumble should be able to be tuned out by the PC. However, that build is begging for a little head work. The 05 heads have small exhaust ports and with stock combustion chambers your compression will be on the low side for that cam. Spend the money for a good street port job and have the chambers sized for the cam and it will be a different machine. One thing leads to another...while it's apart spend the $200-$300 for a bore job and 95" pistons and your build will be complete. Probably not what you wanted to hear but you'll be much happier in the end. If you don't want to go to 95" at least do the headwork.

The head work will help, but it won't get you the c/r needed to make that cam rip. In order to get to 9.6:1 (or so) you will need to put in dome pistons and CC the heads. You might as well go to a 95or 98" if you need to install pistons anyway.
Save your change and maybe next year you can do something. if you are going to do some engine work, have the combo checked out by a pro. Nothing like buying all the goodies and then they don't play well together.

I had custom map done for my bike.I am happy with the hps but was hoping for more torque.I guess I'll have to wait and save my money and decide on what else to do to it.Seat of the pants is a very nice throttle response and a noticeable increase all the way to the top.Icing on the cake is an increase in mpgs.

you will notice some stumble when changing from stock cams to a performance grind, even with good tuning...the 37 really has good low speed manners...I've run s.e. 211, 251, 257, and 264 and let me tell you they STUMBLE!

Thanks for the replies. The tuner really did a good job on this map.The bike accelerates really well and when I gassed up last night mpgs went from 38 to 42.On a side note,in first gear I can get the front wheel to come off the ground a little bit when I shower down on it.

37Gs?
I have 37G's in my 06 FXST (88ci), HSR42 Mikuni. Nothing done to
the heads (yet) and it runs like a scalded dog!
I can literally blow away bikes with allot bigger engines than mine,
including a SE110 springer, a 111S&S BigDog and plenty of 95ci
engines.
What a cam this is, you'll love it!

I had that cam for a little bit in my 06, never had a stumble. Only complaint I had was it was to soft on the bottom end for me. It was a ok cam, I went with a HQ package and now I have what I was looking for.

I had a 2000 fxdx that had the headquarters 0039 kit in it.It was definitly a bad motorscooter. The only thing I did'nt like was the gas milage the starter kick back on hot starts.
With this bike I'm taking my time building it up.It has plenty of power and I'm getting good gas milage.

um..no properly tuned and built bike should stumble at all. Not acceptable. Maybe a mechanical problem or tune. Hard to tell without feeling, seeing and hearing it.

I get 43 mpg and don't really suffer any starter kick back, but then I use compression releases.

The stummble has been tuned out via a custom map. That being said I can tell that these cams need more compression to work their best .I was hoping for a comment on the map,it is in an attachment in an earlier posting.Hopefully I can go up against some of my buds this weekend and see how strong my little 88 is.
