Another inner primary cracked/propper installation?

Just replaced inner primary in April...CRACKED AGAIN! (Motorcycle shop) so I decided to do it myself this time....all the inner (6) bolts were loose..tranny..and motor loose...granite I ride hard but this shouldn't be happening! I've tried doing searches on proper installation procedure butt it won't let me search from my phone! So all I really need too know is the proper sequence and tq specs? And SHIMS?? IF I had too guess loosen motor and tranny, bolt inner primary on (snug)and then bolt the motor and tranny down? Also red or blue lockite?Thx

Your right. Get your motor and trany alligned, dry fit inner primary. Once all your alignment is correct, remove the inner, and tight down the motor and trans.
I would chase the threads on everything, then I use blue loctite and some silicone on the 4 bolts that go into the trans. (silicone in the holes before the primary goes on). Make sure your top motor mount is tight and not cracked.

Thanks tony.....Does the silicone act as a lockite? Locktite on motor/silicone on trans?

Really sounds like an alignment issue, did it crack in the same place both times. Also when you have it off put a run out gauge on the transmission main shaft where you can, get the rear tire in the air and check to make sure your shaft is not bent. You want no more than .002 run out.

there should be tabs that you bend over the bolt head. the bolt goes through the lock tab then one tab is bent down and one is bent up over the bolt head. you do need to use rtv on the bolts to keep the oil from leaking

This has worked well for me...

Align the transmission, then torque the transmission mount bolts.

Torque inner primary bolts to transmission and engine.

Before torquing engine mounting bolts, check between engine mount bosses and frame with feeler stock, you may need to shim between engine and frame.
