Cometic starter shaft seal question

I have a 2000 big twin, does this seal go in the opposite way the Harley seal goes in or does it go in with the flat metal side of the seal facing me/clutch basket

I called cometic the seal goes in with the flat side facing the clutch like a normal seal would be installed

YUP...Carefull with the seal though. Wrap the splines with tape and lube it before pushing the seal over it.
