Plates & Steels

I'm slipping a little. Went to HD for plates & steels yesterday. They want over $300 bucks. The guy at the desk told me that it is newly developed material on the plates. When I asked what that meant all I got was it is HD's secret. They don't want anyone to know. ???????? Shhhhhhhhhhh,,,,, I just kinda looked at him. So what I would like to know is for the price what is the "best" plates and steels for a motor that is running 100/100+. Thanks for your time.

A $25 heavier spring will probably do the trick if you aren't running a synthetic oil in the primary.

I just checked out the Barnett Extra Plate Clutch Kit - Kevlar 307-30-10013. It comes with the plates & steel for $145.00. It would be nice to hear from anyone running them.

I run a energy one clutch and like it! Extra plate kit...they can handle well over 100 hp/tq ! Check it every now and then and the Kevlar like new! Either way u go I'm sure Barnett is just as good!

I've ran the Barnett kevlar. It's a good clutch as well, but I don't have near the HP/Torque you're putting out. I have a Barnett carbon now, works good for my application.

Inspect your hub and pressure plate to make sure they aren't worn. That will affect the stack height of anything you install.

Same here, barnett is what I run and have had no issues. But I ain't no where near those power numbers.
