Does anyone know it a 09 Ultra gear set will fit in a 00 FLH transmission?

No, you are out of luck on that one...

The `00 transmission is a 5 speed.

The `09 is a 6 speed.

Different configuration transmissions altogether.

Not a dumb question.

Thanks; I was hoping I'd get lucky and the case would be the same. I need to replace my six speed gear set in my 00 FLHRI.
There is a six speed gear set from an 09 on ebay for 300 bucks.

If you have a 6 speed on a 00 then it is most likely an aftermarket unit since I do not know of any original 6 speeds before the 06 dyna , you may want to check it because you may have to use a gear set specific to the manufacturer .

Harley made a 6 speed overdrive SE transmission I believe in 2000, it was in the P&A cataloge for years. I had one in my '04 Ultra.

The only 6 speed gearsets that will work in your bike are the aftermarket 6 speed units designed to fit the 5 speed transmission case.
