tburns wants to know Dino or Syn?
Thankfully I read all the way through the posts. The last one from Mark P was what I was waiting for. If you want good information go to the source!

A Question, Mark : My 2010 Ultra 'chatter's' from the trans when moving out slow from the carport, especially noticeable because I have to back up first and turn sharp to the left to get out. {She's stock} The bike does this even if I turn hard right.
After that all is fine {and I've never had a noise of any kind from any of the gears on this one or my last five Harley's - 1969 thru today}. The bike shifts smooth and runs like the dickens from the get-go.
I think I have a clutch plate sticking or something like that when it's cold. Do you have an opinion?
I traded my 2010 Heritage for the Ultra this summer and it was doing it then. The dealer, of course, knows nothing about it.
Just asking. I do wish I could buy the Baker 7 speed. Nothing but raves from every where I've read. But not an option till I win the lottery. (one hopes)

Chief Davis57 wants to know Dino or Syn?
I might have accepted "normal" if it occurred on all units, but not just on some. I got used to the chatter my clutch made on my '72 XLCH when in neutral, now I'm not so sure it wasn't the gears...

Main Bearing Failures

I too own a shop, I was able to read and understand the publishers input of these failures.
I get at least two Harley six speed main bearing failures through my shop every month, and they all look the same. The roller bearings look like termites have eaten away at them.
Very seldom does the five speed fail unless it has been abused. Not the case with the defective six speeds.
