converting belt to chain
so i have my stock pulley setup is 32/70 so what in comparison would be the closet ratio to that in a chain i was thinking of running a 24 up front and have no idea what to run in the back, it is a 2003 road king. I also am wondering what offseet should the front sprocket have, they come in .500 or .900 the rear tire is only a 150.
thanks

That link may help. I thought they also sold a conversion kit. I can't find it on the new website though. Might be worth a call.

Love my chain. not a pain at all. Been running it all season with no problems. Talk to Andy at 3 guys, he will set you up nicely. Zippers also has a kit that might be a touch cheaper also.
Here is the chain "needs" kit i got from Andy!

friggin sweet, can you tell me what teeth you are running, front and back, and do you remember what the front sprocket offset is?
.500 sound right? ok let me rephrase this i can count the teeth in the pics, but how do you like the rpm on the highway, is your bike a 5spd or 6 and maybe the front sprocket is a .900 offset

chains arent a hassel at all, since the early 90's all ya do is the adjustment for initial stretch, and clean when dirty. no oil sling, no stretch, just go ride!
BTW, i always favored tsubaki.

I have been thinking of chain drive too, but my biggest concern is having to pull the inner primary to change the front sprocket. I can not imagine the front sprockets can last over 15-20,000 miles before needing replaced. That is about a year for me. Stock pulley still looks good at 74,000. My biggest reason for changing is it would be easier to repair a broken chain on the road vs a belt. WOuld not have to pull the primary or swing arm to replace the chain and pretty easy to carry a spare chain with you.

Give them a call if you can. I tried email first and it took a little while to get back to me. Every time i called though, Andy picked right up.

That is a very valid concern. I dont see a sprocket lasting that many miles either. My guess, front 50k, rear, 20-30k. I only have about 5k on mine and shows no wear yet. I am pulling my tranny this winter, so i will inspect the front pulley. I suspect it wont show any wear yet though. If you ride that much its probably a ton cheaper and easier to keep the belt.
