How do you get the clutch hub nut off?
My nylon primary chain shoe broke in half and bits of nylon are everywhere including embedded in the chain and clutch sprocket so I'm pulling everything in the primary to clean it all out.
Got the primary locked with the locking tool and have the clutch out but trying the get the clutch hub mainshaft nut off turns the rear tire. Lowered the bike to the floor, but the tire still wants to turn and the nut's not budging.
What's the trick for getting the nut off?

Thx guys.
Using an impact wrench. Might be too wimpy so borrowing another.
Stroker,
Yep. Pulling everything there. Plastic bits look to have gotten everywhere. It's an 03.

If you have to purchase an impact get a Ingersoll-Rand 2135TI. I have one for work and it is unbelievable...Small, LIGHT, 1/2" with 1000 (yea, one thousand) pounds of reverse tq. I think it's 800 in forward.

I just tore my bike down for some transmission work and I slipped a ratcheting tie-down around the crash bar and connected it to the brake pedal. The other option is to get another person to hold the brake for you. The strap worked great for me.
Hope this helps!

Are you talking the 1 1/4 nut on the clutch? Thats reverse thread, don't put an impact on there.
I just used a cheater bar for the comp nut,on the crank. I ducted taped the rear brake down, and had the bike on the ground. Plus I took a piece of snowmobile slide and shoved it in the chain.
The manual says to use an impact as last resort.
To get a 1.5" 1/2 drive 6pnt I got an impact grade socket. $25. But I have seen them in Mcmaster car for about #13ish.

Manual says not to use impact, due to the magnets, but alot of people do it, and I have never heard of anything bad. Mine came off pretty good witha big ass cheater bar.
